this looks totally spot on man. keep it up!!
Thank you! Still have a long way to go... I'm not easily satisfied, haha!
this is really amazing man
Thank you :)
Hey man. Love the colour scheme you've got going on this guy. Just a few issues with his general proportions, for example, his hands are a bit on the small side. I think you would benefit a lot from using some reference images to draw people as practice. The shading's alright, but you don't have to limit the shadows to only follow the edges of each outline (I did the same thing for a really long time), you can give more depth to the image by playing around with the shadows a bit. Nor do the shadows have to always be simply darker, you can play around with the saturation or even slightly different colours for some interesting effects in the shadows. I'm just being really nitpicky though because to already be producing art like this is very promising :) Good luck man looking forward to your next piece!!
Thank you! I'll keep everything in mind! also, yeah whenever I was drawing him I felt the hands were a bit small, I tried to fix them a bit, but I guess I didn't enlarge them enough. I'll keep working and I'll keep submitting more pieces for helpful critique!
i love it!! and everyone looks more intense than in the original image too. you totally nailed the poses. the only nitpicky thing i can find is that lucario's snout look a little off from this angle. but this is still an awesome drawing all the same!! PS: i've been doing something similar with pokemon and attack on titan ;) great minds think alike!!
Hee hee, thanks! I guess I didn't give her snout enough attention, it is a bit 2D, what with the lack of nose and the weird stripe down the middle. Oh well, I appreciate the comment, good luck with your poke titans!
Awesomely vibrant and you executed the lineart to perfection, plus your characters look original, really hard to fault this!! Maybe you could add some highlights? anyway, nice work :)
Thanks mate! I swear I hadn't watched card capture back when I invented these guys, and I was crushed when I found out that show not only had a flying orange cat, but a flying black one too! XD I guess it's not the concept, but the execution that counts. Haha, thanks again! I'm glad you pointed out the lineart, I'm personally pretty proud of it too.
Awesome man, you totally captured the spirit of the game in this!!
Thanks! That means a lot since it's probably the most important thing with fan art. Thanks for the review!
nice solid colours, is that copic? as for the linework, i like your style, but the lines have only two thicknesses (thick around the outline and thin inside the image). while this is aesthetically pleasing, you could raise it higher and experiment and taper thick lines on the inside more, wherever you feel needs it (such as where the chin ends under the fangs if that makes sense)
you're on the right track, i think we both approach art in a similar way, keep it up dude!!
Hey thanks, yes it is copic, I'm trying to get a larger variety of markers but i felt that with this piece I was more confidence with what I had. Thanks for the advice, I have a large range of liners and will try and use them to the best effect next time!
awesome work dude. the art portal needs more copic art
Check out my gallery! I have 4 Star Wars copic covers from last month!
For a mouse drawing this is quite decent, next time if you put more focus into the eyes and really observed how eyes are structured it will bring out their expressions more. If you have the money a drawing tablet is seriously useful. The proportions of each character are mostly pretty good, nice work dude, keep it up :)
Thanks. I'll take your advice into consideration. I figured that digital would be better than using sharpies and markers. For the proportions, I did notice the problem with Aquaman, but by then, it was a little late. I'm going to try to save money for a tablet. I do believe that that will help a lot. Thanks, again!
Hey man. Pretty cool comic, and I have a suggestion. The 3rd and 4th panels both have speech bubbles under them at the same height, but the one under the 4th is from panel 6, so it's easy to read the dialogue in the wrong order (at least I did haha) It's not a big deal but if you think more about the placement of speech in the future it could make this comic a smoother read. Peace
Hmm, good idea, it shouldn't be so hard. I'll see what I can do about it. Thanks!
